I have (two full-size sport utility vehicles, a 400 and a Polaris 400 BC). The parameters that you know or tried? I have a Ford F350 with 8-foot beds.

I craft PPL platforms, see sitting on the bed. so that the quad is not really in bed, but about it. The quads were a hand, and you want a better anchorage and down the ramps.
I could see the platforms of 2x4 and plywood, and supports that go down into the bed of the plant. I wouldnt want the weight on the side of the bed.
You get a little difficult to explain with words.
