Desktop Mount Desktop PCI WLAN 802.11G Wireless Card -- Can I Remove The Fixed Antenna & Mount In A Nearby Window?

Desktop PCI WLAN 802.11G Wireless Card -- Can I remove the fixed antenna & mount in a nearby window? - desktop mount

Or maybe in the attic?

What kind of cable do I need?

What would be (approximately) the maximum length of cable can I use?

If the relocation of the antenna in this way increases the range. . . What is the cheapest way to increase the maximum distance between the router and PC?

And finally have the answers to this question is different for an 802.11n card?

Thank you for your answers!

actually better to buy an external antenna, with the right connector for the PCI card and cable is sufficient.
There is a problem with the cable when the diameter is very small, it loses a lot of signals very quickly (more than 10 feet). Larger diameter wire, as LMR240 or LMR400 allow a little longer between the computer and the antenna to go. With LMR400 (1 / 2 inches in diameter, almost) you can walk 50 feet without significant signal (loss of up to 100 meters with a loss of the signal about 3 / 4 signal)
