I had good results even with the editing options for MS Powerpoint.

Try this ....
Open PowerPoint and choose white for the design.

To import the photos. iPhoto, you can drag and drop. I'm not sure about PC. You probably have to change the picture.

A window on the left side of the picture, the contrast of light and color correction and cropping options possible. This window is a picture, "Effects", click on the dot. You will see a wide range of options to convert your images to look more like watercolor, pastel, etc.
